Kara D. Keister dedicates her career to promoting the rights of individuals in the workplace. Ms. Keister is a litigator, engaged in all aspects of civil litigation from client intake, to filing and answering of complaints, filing motions and opposing motions, propounding and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, negotiating and settling cases, and trial work. Ms. Keister represents employees in claims of wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation for taking protected leaves of absences including disability leave or family medical leave among other matters. Ms. Keister also handles claims for unpaid overtime, commissions and the denial of meal and rest breaks.

Since joining the Law Office of Bowman & Associates, Ms. Keister’s employee clients have sued dozens of Fortune 500 companies in numerous industries including aerospace, automotive, banking, mortgage, service, technology and many other industries. Ms. Keister has also represented employees against the State of California and various counties and other governmental entities.

Ms. Keister graduated with Honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2000, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Policy. Ms. Keister received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where she was a Dean’s List recipient with a concentration in Taxation. Ms. Keister has been admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California along with the United States District Court, Eastern District.
